👮♀️ Big drug busts keep rolling! Feds and local cops announced major indictments from multi-agency ops targeting cocaine, fentanyl, and meth trafficking in the Panhandle. One leader with Sinaloa Cartel ties got sentenced recently; another case involved a meth lab in a Gerrardstown home.
Earlier task force work netted 34 arrests on armed robbery and drug charges.
Sex offender gets max sentence! A Martinsburg man convicted on multiple sex offenses drew over a thousand years in prison.
Other incidents - Armed carjacking investigation (suspect later arrested), person of interest in a South Berkeley shooting, and a rabies-positive cat attacking folks in Spring Mills.

Weekend chaos - Weather and a gas leak kept first responders hopping in Berkeley Springs area with power outages and incidents.
No major new fatalities reported lately, but past incidents (like older arsons) highlight ongoing vigilance.
🚑 Berkeley County plans to consolidate emergency medical services boards under the commission starting next year for better efficiency.

HandCraft expansion: This healthcare linen/uniform service opened a new plant in Martinsburg with a ribbon-cutting. Half is running now (processing tons for medical providers), full ops by 2027. Good sign for local jobs.
📈 Growth boom - Martinsburg's one of the fastest-growing spots in WV, with new businesses popping up, Fortune 500 presence (P&G, Clorox), and stuff like the Economic Opportunity Development District bill for a sports complex (projected 1,300 jobs).
💼 Support for small biz - Eastern Panhandle Entrepreneurs Forum events, chamber mixers, and new websites for attracting business. United Way and others running grant cycles too.

Home show and festivals - Eastern Panhandle Home Show wrapped or wrapping at the Roundhouse. Pride events expanding in Berkeley County later this year. WV Fest in Charles Town drew big crowds.
Upcoming: Independence Day stuff, chamber mixers (like June 17 hosted by Valley Health), and entrepreneur networking.

🥵 Near-term - Mostly sunny to partly cloudy highs in the mid-80s to low 90s, lows around 60-70. Chance of scattered thunderstorms popping up, especially afternoons/evenings. Southwest winds.
🌧️ Watch for Heavy rain risks, possible strong storms. Weekend looked decent overall but monitor for pop-up stuff. Classic Panhandle June—stay hydrated!

However, there are plenty of other apps, chatbots, LLMs, (whatever you prefer to call it), that are super awesome at what they do as well!
One in particular is @MetaAI! I call it, the most slept on #AI model! But I think the way we all jumped from MySpace to Facebook, and from yahoo to google, I think we are all about to do it again!
